    To know the ancient and midevel history of Kooriyad you must study about Valiyora and vengara desams, the people lived there, Kundoor chola Kshethram[an ancient cave temple in valiyora Desam], Thali temple[Vengara desam] Anciet Nair tharavads, Brahmans who lived here, and Kottakkal Kovilakam and Samudhiri,tippus Invasaion and British rule 1921 Malabar riot. also studied about the conversion of nair, Thiyyas, Cherumas, Kanakkans , Asaris to Islam in this area
